Our Heritage
Dynamic Battery Services Limited is a private company incorporated in the United Kingdom in 1994 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Powertech Battery Group in the Republic of South Africa.
The Powertech Battery Group is the leading manufacturer and supplier of automotive and industrial batteries in the Republic of South Africa and is a subsidiary of Power Technologies Limited which, in turn, is a subsidiary of the Altron Electronics Group, a public company listed on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange and the major electronics group in the southern hemisphere.
All batteries distributed by Dynamic Battery Services Limited are manufactured to the strictest quality standards in the Powertech Battery Group's manufacturing plants in the Republic of South Africa.
Future Technologies
The manufacturing plants are accredited for OE supply to the automotive manufacturing industry and hold all the relevant certification including ISO 9002, VDA6, Q101, QS9000, ISO 14001 and incorporate modern manufacturing technology processes such as expanded metal grid technology.
Modern battery technology is represented by the Groups' commitment to Calcium Silver technology which we supply in the United Kingdom and fully sealed Calcium Calcium technology which will shortly be available.
Further capital investment programs will ensure that the Powertech Battery Group and Dynamic Battery Services Limited keep up with the latest international technology trends.
Batteries are exported to the United Kingdom where they are distributed nationally from Dynamic Battery Services Limited warehouses situated near Liverpool and Bristol.
History
The company started trading as Willard Batteries - under license to ESB Incorporated of the United States, during January 1954. The manufacturing operation and offices are situated in Port Elizabeth.
The company concentrated initially, on the manufacture of automotive batteries and very soon gained an enviable reputation for the excellence of their product quality.
The first industrial batteries were produced in 1966 for the SATS Diesel Electronic Locomotives, then built by General Electric. The manufacture of motive power and stationary batteries followed in 1967.
The growth of the company continued at a fairly even pace and was financed entirely out of the company's own profits.
